October Monthly Challenge: Stop Sitting All Day and Stand (Or Sit on the Floor) More

If you’re like most people, there’s a good chance you’re sitting down right now. Whether it’s at your desk at work, on the couch in front of the TV, or even in the car, we spend a significant amount of time in a seated position. But for the month of October, we challenge you to stand up more and even sit on the floor from time to time. Taking inspiration from Japanese culture, where sitting on the floor is a common practice, we aim to break free from the constraints of our desk chairs and give our bodies some much-needed variety. Now, we’re not saying to throw out all your furniture and live like minimalist nomads, but a few more minutes every hour each day spent standing or sitting on the floor could do wonders for your posture and overall wellness.

What to Watch: Knock at the Cabin on Amazon Prime

M. Night Shyamalan’s movies tend to be quite polarizing; people either love them or hate them. I can’t say I love all his films, but Knock at the Cabin is definitely one I would recommend. This film follows a family on vacation in a remote cabin who are suddenly visited by a mysterious stranger. What follows is a tense and unpredictable story that will keep you guessing until the very end. Shyamalan proves once again that he has a talent for crafting suspenseful tales that leave a lasting impression. So if you’re looking for a thrilling and suspenseful ride, this movie is definitely worth checking out. Available to watch on Amazon Prime.

Gear Upgrade: GoRuck Backpacks

If you’re on the lookout for a premium backpack that’ll make your everyday carry feel like a piece of cake, let me introduce you to GoRuck backpacks. Founded by Jason McCarthy, a former special forces soldier, GoRuck backpacks are designed to withstand even the toughest of adventures and come with a lifetime guarantee. Made with the highest quality materials and craftsmanship, they might be on the pricier side, but boy, are they worth it IMO. You can load these up and they are incredibly comfortable. Easily the most comfortable backpack I’ve ever used. And if you’re willing to shell out a few more dollars for a ruck plate, you’re in for an incredible workout. They’re definitely an investment, but one that you won’t regret making if you value quality, comfort and style.

Weekend Sale: Gap 50% Off Select Sale Items

Gap is currently having a 50% off sale on select items, no code required. It’s a great time to stock up on high-quality basics that never go out of style. My personal favorites from Gap include their jeans and khakis – both are durable and fit well. I also really like their casual button-up shirts, which are perfect for a day at the office or a weekend brunch.
