The Weekend Setup: October 6, 2022

What to Watch: MLB Playoffs

The MLB playoffs start this weekend with the best of 3 Wild Card series, 2 series in the NL and 2 series in the AL. Personally, I don’t like that there are 6 teams that make the playoffs in each league now. 162 games is too long of a season for 40% of the league to make the playoffs anyway… Go back to the 3 division winners and 1 wild card team please. Regardless, postseason baseball definitely is a different animal than the regular season. Every at-bat is more intense and each game seems to be competitive until the final out. So get out of the house and head over to your favorite local bar and catch a few innings this weekend.

Style Upgrade: Outerwear Jackets

One of the easiest ways to upgrade your style in the fall is to upgrade your outerwear. While I love a good North Face or Columbia jacket, those probably shouldn’t be your go-to jacket or coat for a date night. So start browsing sites like Huckberry or Nordstrom and see if you can find something a little more stylish to wear this Fall.

What to Drink: Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest is a great time when done right. Cold beer, cute girls in German outfits, pretzels and schnitzel.

Physical Challenge: Practice Your Balance

Balance is incredibly important. Golf, tennis, pickup game of basketball or football. I never really focused on training my balance until I saw a cool product online called the SlackBlock. Incredibly challenging and within a couple days I felt sore in muscles I didn’t know I had. Highly recommend the Slackblock, but there are other ways to train your balance. You could just go buy an 8 foot long 2×4 and practice as well. Find a few exercises and just spend about 5 or 10 minutes a night on it. You’ll notice the improvement pretty quickly.

Weekend Sale: Banana Republic Factory

Banana Republic Factory is having a huge sale this weekend. Up to 60% off on a lot of items. I’m a big fan of their travel pants. Incredibly comfortable and kind of a cross between jeans and chinos. Banana Republic Factory also has some really great coats and jackets as well.
